I’m so ridiculously excited about this amazing oddity of an album by N.A.S.A, an ongoing creative collaboration between two lifelong music aficionados, Squeak E. Clean ad DJ Zegon, and their friends, friends of friends and musical heroes.
Due out later this month from record label ANTI-, The Spirit of Apollo features 17 tracks of songs that bring together artists you never thought you’d hear mentioned in the same breath (Karen O, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, & Fatlip on one track, Tom Waits & Kool Keith on the one above) and those who seem like they were born to work together ( The Cool Kids, Ghostface Killah, Scarface & DJ AM on The Mayor; Spank Rock, M.I.A., Santogold, & Nick Zinner on Whachadoin?; Sizzla, Amanda Blank, & Lovefoxxx on A Volta).
Also, this album has, by far, the most amazing cover art of the last five years.
