Hailed, reviled and redeemed indie-god Beirut is releasing a new double-ep entitled March of the Zapotec and Realpeople Holland, respectively. For Zapotec, Zach Condon journeyed to Mexico to play Svengali to a mariachi band, who perfectly executed his signature arrangements. The second disc recorded in the city of its namesake features a lot of electronic beats and arrangements and is a bit harder to get into. I’ve posted my favorite track from that one.
