I don’t particularly like Ari Marcopoulous’ “art” photos, however when he’s photographing other people’s art it’s a different story.
Jim Denevan uses sticks to make freehand drawings in sand.  For his process, he searches for a wide beach and an adequate (organic) drawing instrument and waits for a low tide.  When the environment is just right, Denevan labors for up to seven hours creating remarkable, sprawling designs that sometimes stretch for miles, all without the use of any measuring instruments beyond his own two eyes.
