Rich and I watched The Holy Mountain yesterday and the whole time I was thinking (well, “thinking” is probably the wrong word) “Man I am going to have such vivid and horrible druggy eyeball-sucking nightmares from this.” I woke up this morning terrified and clutching the bed; I had been dreaming of working in an office, cleaning and cleaning all the books and papers out of a giant desk.
(Also I have to mention that about five minutes into the movie — I think while Jesus was having the flies cleaned from his dead face by a limbless person, or during a montage of alchemical-symbol color pinwheels — I was like “I follow so many Tumblrs that are like this”)

Oh my god, Lukas!!! You win an Oscar of the Internet! Now I wish I had spent the day simmering chicken livers and stuffing them into a crock with two sticks of butter and some Calvados, as opposed to … whatever I did all day.
This is something Jordan would do.

Finally, a reason to visit this museum.
Quite possibly one of the best gifts I have ever received — given by Amanda Finelli, of course — an autographed copy of Nigella Lawson’s new book, Kitchen.
For Carlos — The little Domestic Goddess!!
Love, Nigella
Love, indeed.
Tribute to Alexander McQueen by Nick Knight, with original music by Björk. (via SHOWstudio)
It’s so bittersweet to see a creative genius eulogized by other creative geniuses. And there’s nothing more intense than a McQueen + Knight + Björk collaboration; see here and here.
Twin Sister — All Around and Away We Go (2010).
This wallpaper is probably my favorite thing about living in my house. My favorite boy used to be Big Nose with Mustache, but has since changed to Widow’s Peak with Shifty Eyes. Ringo Starr (not pictured) is gaining on him, though.
I was present for the creation of this piece. It was an evening.
Philip Taylor, (2011).

French surf rock? I’m on board (a bad pun that is conveniently also the tittle of this song!). I am basically all for anything that sounds like the B52’s without actually being that band. It’s just lo-fi enough to fit in with the hazy dream pop I’ve been obsessed with for the last year-and-change, but has the added elements of spacey new wave synths and a quietly badass frontwoman whose every tenth word I can actually understand. I feel like this sort of album would have been a logical next step for C.S.S.

James Franco, Double Third Portrait (2009, video still).
I’ve been in awe with the rest of humanity, but James Franco’s finger in the “Fine Artist” pie might be where I reach the end of my rope. The fact that he’s represented by Javier Peres, who is maybe the Dov Charney of art dealers, only further adds to the ambiguity of my forming a decisive opinion. It seems so much like a crown jewel in Peres’s tiara of vanity to have Franco on his roster, but then again I could just me supremely jealous of both of them…
